My name is Steve Wilson and I have been building and optimising websites professionally since 2006. I live in a small village on the edge of Leicestershire and Northamptonshire. A number of my clients are small businesses who need a website that will not only present their activities but also generate business for them. Cornboard is one of three websites all built round the same design for Norfolk Boards a very forward thinking company on the East Coast. Cornboard and also its sister site Shuffleboard were conceived with the idea of being able to sell these family games over the Internet.

All three sites are clean and fun. They needed to be easy to understand with the e-shop element offering safe and quick access to all items. As all transaction are done on a third party site there is no risk when it comes to the security of these site.

Adding video to these sites enables them to show the games being played which has certainly helped to get the message over that they are fun and entertaining.

Allowe Training Resources

Michelle at Allowe is a highly qualified and respected beauty and hair consultant in Australia. She wanted a website to display all the training resources she was producing for the Australian college market. Her website had to look smart and be easy to navigate. Although quite a large site it had to be easy to understand and have a good linking structure so that all her many courses could be easy to find information about.

This website has grown over the period of the last two years. I am now discussing with her adding an e-learning option so that some of her courses can be taken on-line.

Premier Pallet Systems

Premier are probably the most important company in their business of Pallet Inverters. (If you’re not sure what that is then take a look at their site.) I have been working with Premier for many years and this is the third incarnation of their website as they wanted to utilise all the was cutting edge and effective on the web.

Premier’s latest site is large and complex not least because it show their products in over eight different languages. It also links to over twenty of their Satellite sites around the world that I have built for them over the past two years.

The increase in enquiries from all these sites has been tremendous and their International status has been confirmed. The idea was to have the most effective site possible for such an important International company.

Westhaven WW

Westhaven are a large logistics company in the Midlands. It was important to them that their website conveyed not only the quality of their service but also the investment that they had made in staff and training to make them a successful player in their field.

The Westhaven website was complicated to build and produced but as is always the case offered no challenges too big to solve. The truth about building a website is that pretty much all things are possible depending on your budget.

Maple Survey

I built this site for an expanding asbestos survey company who have since concentrated on getting it to the top of the search engines for their search terms. This has meant the site gets a lot of exposure.  The main idea was to produce a nice clean site that promoted green issues. It was also important that the site had a professional slick finish.

Jim Scales Driving School

Jim came to be wondering if having an Internet website could increase the enquiries he was getting for his driving school. I told him that I was confident it would and set about building a site that would prove my conviction.

Buyin the correct domain name was all important as it was a major step in promoting Jim new site the the top of Google.

Jim now gets a good number of enquires from the website and the last I heard his business was doing very well.

Primary Workshops For Schools

Primary Workshops are a small business who offer really interesting learning workshops to schools around the country. They wanted a site that was fun to look at. It had to get over the sense that the workshops on offer would appeal to children and be interactive and offer a great learning experience.

The company colours being red gave me a basis to start from and after that it was a case of incorporating all the images and text given by PWFS for the site. Over the years the site has been updated and amended as workshops have be removed or updated.

Another important addition to the site was the ability to add video. Although we used Youtube some schools were restricted from viewing Youtube so we also allowed the videos to be down loaded.

Reaction Employment

Reaction Employment have been offering employment services in Northamptonshire for a while and came to me looking for a straightforward website that showed their services off.

The idea was to produce a nice clean simple website of just a few pages so that any company looking to hire staff or any staff looking for work could contact them easily. Having a presence on the Internet was important to Reaction.

Another piece of information that it was important to convey was that Reaction was a bona fide trader and an important business in their town we agreed that showing industry accreditation.

Welcome to Website Expert

If you have just sat through the video you will now at least know what I look like. That video was shot in my office in Wilbarston and is one ideas I would encourage you to try on your own website if it is appropriate.
